I was commuting home from work in Soho, when I got a text reminder of Girls Night from my bestie & confidant Kristina Russo. Her text was that she was on her way to Wildflower Gardens. Her message describing how she was all dolled up looking adorable as ever. I get in to my home, grateful to indulge in total creative mode. I had been trapped in a productive exhausting day at Devachan Salon in Soho. Joyfully I shouted “Kristinas!!!” My nickname for her. I’m well known by my {THE BORO 10752} peeps; whom I hold sacred to my soul, for making people’s first & last names plural. They laughed about all through highschool.
Delighted to finally see me she, screams with cheers “where we goin tonight?” I smiled at the sound of her question. I replied “I have no clue” hollering as I usually do while I continued scattering clothes all over my walk in closet/ Wildflower cave. We end up taking a Uber to the city. Started our night super late or early i should say !! This is the normal hour us new yorkers, socialites & party goers flood the streets of Manhattan. Lol ! By 1 am we discovered Max Fish on 8 Orchard street. An Urban lounge def not a fancy upscale type of place. More like a speakeasy artsy, feel good vibe. Small intimate spot.
Max Fish has a downstairs as well, however we didn’t buzz around down there that much. My type of shindig on a spur of the moment creative night. We mingled met a few girls & guys it was cool. I did some networking. It just comes naturally to do so. Not to throw shade on this trendy local spot, #istaywild but unfortunately all guests were forced to leave the premises before “last call”. Due to unknown reasons of conflict within the crowd of frequent Max Fish goer’s. So sad and unsafe when this happens in any location. Disappointed we departed ways with Max Fish. Intrigued we decided we would return another time. Me especially just because my 24 hour creative brain alongside my vivacious networking soul wants to discover more about the establishment.
We wandered around the Lowa, which never sleeps in search of Crepes with a local & Max Fish goer named Brian. I was able to do some graffiti & street art hunting while Kristina chatted up with the tall handsome gentleman. My imaginativeness clout many cravings within me always. Once Brian located the Crepe place he politely offered to share his enormous delicious strawberry & banana yumminess with us YAY !! too bad I didn’t catch the name of this tiny gem that served such mouth-watering greatness. So grateful that I took time to capture images with my deviceful eye. With magic wand in tow. (my J3 Samsung cellphone) My wild imagination tends to flourish beautifully in the concrete jungle. Extending an aura of solace to my wildflower soul. Streets of The Lower East Side of Manhattan are excellent for a night life of graffiti/street art hunting. That’s what I like to call “FRIDAY NIGHT DIGS”. First photo; is that of a tall male figure filled with the color white. Enclaved of gray background. Brainstorming I envisioned him as a pure & white lost soul, a ghost even approaching the realm of doom. The wildfowersoul artist’s painting depicted in this mural definitely resonated as death in my thoughts. However not death of a person, yet death of a “Wildflower”.
The next photo, I used in to help with inspiration for Dead Flowers Grow; was that of a Wildflowersoul. This flower figure radiated with Devine colors of passionate flare. he was beaming I could feel it and see it. Word’s poured out of me, as i formulated a Masterpiece of one’s true talent stimulated by Visual Art. The brightly Lit figure surrounded by, large puddles of color. I saw them as, flowers, vines, petals, thorns, perhaps even a storm. Or an enchanted sanctuary of wild emotions. An affirmation of Wildflowers blossoming within one’s inner being. The figure stood tall.
There was a crowd behind him.
Painted all black these distant bodies; bestowed me both optimistic visions along with negative vehemence. Uncanny the darkness of these figures instantly represented quite a few adjectives in my artistic theory. {ENVIOUS DEMONS} Was my number 1 choice. As someone who has had so many none believers in her creativity. People assuming they know the depths of me. Many calling me outrageous, too talkative, and overly passionate. My fav of all; WILD Party Girl. They love to call me CRAZY. Zero harm that did to me. I continue to grow and evolve. Hence one of my alter ego’s name is *LA LOCA. I’m positive many of my fam & friends have seen and heard her. {LMAO}
